Itineraries ideas

Here is our little guide for your explorations in the city. We created some itinerary to experience the best of what the city has to offer.

Day at the Medina
We recommend going early to the Medina to avoir the crowds.

Here is my perfect itinerary:

8:50am: If you go by car, park your car here. It should not cost more than 40dh (4 euro) for a few hours.
9am: Try to arrive exactly at that time at the Saadian Tombs. Visit should take about 20 minutes. (price 7 euro), if you arrive later, you might wait hours in line in front of the nicest tomb just to see it, and it's not worth it.
9:20am: Walk 5 min to the Bahia Palace. This is a very nice Palace, and it should take bout 1 hour to visit. (price 7 euro)
10:30am: Walk to La place des Ferblantier, have a coffee or keep walking to the souks.
11:00am: Explore the shops on the Rue Riad Zitount el Jdid while walking towards the famous Place Jamaa El-Fnaa
12:30pm: Have lunch on a rooftop of the Place Jamaa El-Fnaa. I recommend the Zeitoun Café. If you want to have alcohol with your meal,  Le Marrakchi is the only one in this area.
1:45pm: Have a Horse promenade (about 1-hour) to show you around the city center. Should cost about 250dh (25 euro).

Souks in the Medina

Hammam, Museums & Garden

10am: We recommend a traditional 1-hour hammam + 1-hour massage at the Marajah Spa. It is one of the nicest spa in town, and it's also very affordable (about 60 euro).
BOOK IN ADVANCE: Call Marajah Spa
This place is always full for last minute reservations.

12pm: After or before your hammam, you can visit the Majorelle Garden that is located at 8-min walking distance from the Spa.

You need to BOOK YOUR TICKETS DAYS IN ADVANCE -
ONLINE ONLY Click here to book your tickets.

1:30pm: Visit the Yves Saint-Laurent Museum right next to the Garden.

More Exploration in the Medina

9:00am: Arrive at the Medersa Ben Youssef and enjoy the architectural pearl of Marrakech.

9:45am:Walk to the Café Dar El Bacha for the nicest breakfast in town. They open at 10am but you need to arrive before they open the doors so you don't have to wait 2 hours in line to eat.

11:00am: Visit the Secret Garden and do some shopping around the Souk Semmarine.

Important Note:

At the souk, NEGOTIATE! Sellers always put their price too high for foreigners. Bring cash to pay in most places, there are some ATM in the medina.
